Portland or Bust!

Hey all!

Guess what time of the year it is? Spring Break!! Yea!

I am currently at the Sacramento Intl. Airport with Erin waiting for our plane to arrive. Here are some photos from the waiting area.

I could actually see my luggage in the cart outside. My bags are the black suitcase in the middle right and the green duffel on the left. We’ll have to see if Southwest actually handles them with LUV like they claim.

Our flight to Portland is SWA327 (click the link to track the flight).

flight status

I’m not sure if the above photo will update, but if it does, you should be able to watch our flight make its way from Sacramento to Portland.

That’s it for now. Oregon here we come!

Happy New Year!

Gung Hay Fat Choy!

Hey, so I know it’s been a while now, but on Saturday February 9 the “fearsome four” traversed to Chinatown in downtown Los Angeles for the Chinese New Year parade. It was awesome!

The first leg of the trip was a journey on the Metrolink train from Claremont to Union Station in LA. From there, we hopped in a light rail train to the Chinatown exit. There were so many people for the parade; it was absolutely crazy! I took quite a few pictures, which I’m including below.

The streets, sidewalks, everywhere were all covered with massive amounts of confetti. It must have been a mess for the street-sweepers.

One of the Year of the Rat floats.

Well, I’ll probably bog down people with a slower connection if I post all of the pictures here, so you’ll have to open the full article to view the remaining pictures.

Midwinter Luau

Yikes. How does time fly. It’s been wayyy too long since I’ve posted an entry. Why, with all the homework, late nights, homework, classes, and homework, there’s not much time left for friends and sleep. I’m back for now and I’ll try to post a little more frequently in the future.

Now, to the Luau!

Luau 1

L-R: Allison Wynn, Bri Krumweide, Brendan Smith, and Erin Partlan. (I’m taking the picture)

Notice the sweet moves we’re all rolling. Oh yeah! These were all taken at around 8:40 PM with a flash, so it was actually just lit by the paper lanterns overhead.

Luau 3

A nice group shot of the “fearsome foursome” + Bri. L-R (top down): Brendan Smith, Kevin Renfrow, Bri Krumweide, Erin Partlan, and Allison Wynn.

Tiki Man

Don’t forget about the Tiki man! His eyes are LEDs that light up at night. It’s pretty sweet!

The luau was amazing! Good times, Beach Boys playing… yep. Definitely a nice break from the standard routine of classes and homework! Next time we’re going to get more people involved. There’s even talk of setting up a smoothie bar for Atwood dorm sometime in the future as part of a way that the Christian fellowship members of Atwood can minister to our dorm.

Anyways, the weather’s looking great for Fat Tuesday!

HMC morning

Photo from our porch this morning. No clouds in the sky - only the warm sun. Hard to believe it’s mid-winter. =P

That’s it for now. Maybe I’ll be crazy and post again this afternoon…
